If you are in a position to financially support the many small and local businesses that are facing devastating losses at this time, please consider donating, even in small amounts, without the expectation of anything in return. Businesses are also bending over backwards to find ways to stay open and keep their employees, so if you're not already, follow their Instagram and Facebook pages, and when they announce what they're doing to try to stay afloat, take them up on it. Bars are delivering beer; restaurants are now allowing curbside pickup; it is a bit more expensive than if you go it yourself, but you just might keep that bar or restaurant that you love in business. When they say "this is how you can help us", do it!
Service industry workers and other tipped employees are suffering right now, so donate directly to them if you can, or if you are able to help them navigate applying for benefits, that would be helpful as well.
